Happy 850th Glasgow!

In 2025, the grand Scottish city of Glasgow celebrates 850th anniversary of becoming a burgh. These many years later, she’s all grown up and you’re invited to join Glasgow 850 in a reflection of over eight centuries of history, culture and heritage. This year’s city festivals take a special look at where the Glasgow is today and where she’s heading in her next 850 years.

Our Glasgow 850 Festival programme will see the city’s much loved festivals adding Glasgow 850 content to their 2025 programme. From Glasgow Film Festival and Glasgow Comedy Festival at the beginning of the year through to TRNSMT, Glasgow Mela, Piping Live! and then our winter season beginning with GlasGlow, it will ensure there are as many ways as possible to engage across the year.
